This project involved the conversion of an upper-floor restaurant space in Chinatown into a dance rehearsal space for three local dance companies. The project included washroom renovations, shared office, storage, a kitchenette and a dance rehearsal space. Within an extremely tight budget, we worked with the client to obtain permits quickly, assist with contractor selection and designed a functional space within budgetary constraints. Our design included cost-effective ceiling detailing that supported theatre lighting and sound systems.
With limited funding we created a flexible place for three dance companies to share — providing them with the increased stability they required to function more effectively.
